Gangster Lawrence's brother Anmol has been arrested in America. Anmol was caught entering the US with illegal papers in Sacramento, the capital of California, on November 14.
Officials of the US Immigration and Custom Enforcement Department became suspicious of Anmol. Upon investigation they found out that his papers were fake. After this the Custom Department took him into custody. Currently Anmol is kept in Pottawattamie County Jail in the state of Iowa.
NIA is in touch with the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Department of Homeland Security (DHS) regarding Anmol's arrest. Agencies are trying to hand over Anmol to India as soon as possible without any court process. India had earlier sent a request for Anmol's extradition to America after informing him about his crimes in India.
Anmol had taken responsibility for firing at the house of Bollywood actor Salman Khan. Along with this, his name has also surfaced in the murder case of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala and Baba Siddiqui.
NIA kept a reward of Rs 10 lakh
Recently, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) had placed a reward of Rs 10 lakh on Anmol Bishnoi, brother of gangster Lawrence. The agency has filed a charge sheet against Anmol in 2 cases registered in 2022. Anmol's name is also included in the most wanted list of NIA.
The first case was registered against Anmol in the year 2012
Anmol, known as Bhanu in the Lawrence gang, was first booked in 2012 under sections of assault, battery and Arms Act in Abohar, Punjab. By the year 2015, more than 6 cases were registered against Anmol in Punjab. Currently, 22 cases are registered against Anmol across the country. In which various sections including murder, target killing, ransom, Arms Act are involved.
