Hardeep Singh Nijjar was murdered on 18 June 2023. In September, the Canadian PM had accused India of this murder.

On the evening of June 18, 2023, Nijjar was shot dead while leaving a Gurudwara in Surrey city of Canada. On September 18 last year, Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau had accused the Indian government of involvement in Nijjar's murder, which India rejected.

After this, on May 3, three accused of Nijjar's murder were arrested. All three accused are Indians. Canadian police said that the police had been keeping an eye on them for several months. They believe that India had assigned them the task of killing Nijjar. Then India had said on this matter that it is an internal matter of Canada.
