Israel has taken responsibility after 54 days for the serial blasts that took place in the pager (communication device) of Hezbollah members in Lebanon on September 17. The Israeli Prime Minister has admitted that he had approved this attack.

Netanyahu spokesperson Omar Dostri told news agency AFP – In the cabinet meeting held on Sunday, PM Netanyahu confirmed that he had given the green signal for the pager attack in Lebanon. However, Omar did not give detailed information about this attack.

According to the Times of Israel, Netanyahu said that the defense agency and senior officials were against the pager attack and the operation to kill Nasrallah, the then chief of Hezbollah. Despite opposition, I gave direct orders for the attack.

About 40 people associated with Hezbollah were killed in the pager blasts on September 17. More than three thousand people were also injured. 10 days later, on September 27, after giving a speech at the UN, Netanyahu gave permission to attack Hezbollah's headquarters in Lebanon with an 80-ton bomb from his hotel room. 20 hours later, Hezbollah confirmed Nasrallah's death.

On September 17, people's pagers exploded simultaneously in several places in Lebanon.

A person got injured and fell on the road due to the blast in the pager kept in his pants pocket. Who was later taken to the hospital.

Hezbollah had given pagers to its members

Use of pagers was in trend before mobile phones. Later its use gradually decreased. Although it is still being used in Lebanon.

A pager is a wireless device used to send and receive messages. It usually comes with small screen and limited keypad. With its help, messages or alerts can be received quickly.

According to reports, the pagers that exploded were recently given to its members by Hezbollah for use. After the Gaza war started, Hezbollah had forbidden its members from using mobile phones. This advice was given to avoid any possible attack by Israel.

In July, Hassan Nasrallah asked people to stop using mobile devices and CCTV because he feared that the Israeli agency could hack them.

Israel knew Nasrallah's location for months

According to the New York Times, Israeli leaders had been aware of Nasrallah's location for several months. They had planned to attack him a week in advance. In fact, Israeli officials feared that Nasrallah would shift to another location in a few days.

In such a situation, they had very little time to attack him. After this, on September 27, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, after giving a speech at the UN, gave permission to attack Hezbollah's headquarters from his hotel room.
