Finishing work started in the terminal, target to complete in 2-3 months We left for the airport site from Delhi-Noida Sector-14 entry point. It took about one and a half hours to reach. There is no red light anywhere on the way. However, since it was morning, there was a lot of traffic at many places on the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway.

The airport site is on the Yamuna Expressway of Greater Noida, crossing the Jewar Toll Plaza. An official associated with the airport authority helped us understand the site. First of all we reached the passenger terminal building of the airport. This terminal is to be ready in the first phase.

The work of Noida terminal is in its final stages. The deadline is near, so work is being done at a fast pace. More than 800 laborers are engaged here for this.

Officials associated with the Airport Authority say that all the work will be completed in the next 2 to 3 months. The target is to open the passenger terminal in March, so that commercial airlines can start operations in the last week of April.

Mansion courtyard design in the middle of the terminal Officials say that the center of the terminal will have a design like the courtyard of a mansion. The upper part will be covered with a lattice shape with a white design like the flow of a river. This will allow natural light to come inside. Efforts are being made to use more green energy in the terminal. More than 50% renewable energy will be used here. For this, wind power is being installed along with solar plant.

Further links are being prepared to reach the aircraft parking from the terminal. The work of connecting many parking points is pending. A target of one to two months has been set to complete it.

3900 meter long runway ready, preparations to start trials soon From the airport passenger terminal we proceeded towards the runway. The road taking the plane to the runway is currently being prepared. We walked on the dirt road for some time. Then reached the 3900 meter long runway from the road. The air traffic control room is visible from here. We were told that the runway work has been completed. The trial can start any time now.

How to reach the airport Within a radius of 70 km from Noida Airport are Greater Noida, Noida, Aligarh, Gurugram, Faridabad and IGI Airport of Delhi. Agra is 130 km from here. There will be road connectivity only till Noida International Airport for the first 5 years. For this, 80 buses will be run from the airport to nearby cities.

These buses will start running with the first flight. Apart from Delhi, you will be able to reach the airport from Meerut, Mathura, Agra, Bulandshahr, Ghaziabad, Noida, Hapur of Western UP. The buses will be run by Uttar Pradesh Roadways.

Meerut, Delhi, Noida will be connected by high speed rail by 2030 By 2030, Noida Airport will be directly connected to Ghaziabad and Delhi by High Speed ​​Rapid Rail. Ghaziabad has been connected to Meerut by High Speed ​​Rapid Rail, which means connectivity from Noida Airport to Meerut will be easy.

There will be 35 stations of Rapid Rail between Ghaziabad and Noida Airport. About 72.29 km long elevated route will be built. Both rapid rail and metro will run on the same track. Plan to connect Delhi-Varanasi with high speed rail There is a plan to connect Noida International Airport with Delhi-Varanasi high speed rail. Apart from this, Faridabad-Jewar Link Expressway is being built. Will be able to come directly from Mohana of Ballabhgarh by expressway by April 2025. However, to come from Faridabad, one will have to wait till December 2025.

According to airport officials, apart from Noida, there will be direct connectivity to the airport from Agra, Mathura, Delhi, Faridabad, Ghaziabad. For this, an interchange point has been made on Yamuna Expressway near Dayanatpur village, less than one km from the airport. From here, people coming from Delhi, Noida, Agra, Mathura or Faridabad will be able to enter the airport terminal directly.

Dainik Global News Daily talked to NHAI engineer Mukteshwar Shukla about this. They say that a loop has been made on Yamuna Expressway 3 km before Jewar toll. Currently, it takes one and a half to two hours to reach Noida Airport from Faridabad. Now Jewar-Faridabad Link Expressway is being built. After making it, it will take only 30 to 35 minutes.

A road is being built linking Faridabad to Yamuna Expressway. Another road will be connected to Mohana road near Ballabhgarh. It will be completed by March 2025.

Passengers will also get the facility of cocktail bar at Noida Airport Terminal. World class spa will start. These facilities will be available on the lines of Singapore's Changi Airport.

NCR and UP will benefit from multi model cargo hub The construction work of multi-modal cargo hub at Noida Airport is going on from September 2023. Along with NCR, Uttar Pradesh will also benefit from this. The cargo hub being built on more than 80 acres of land will cater to the needs of domestic and international shipments as well as express cargo and transshipment. The capacity of the hub in the first phase will be around 2 lakh tonnes per annum. In the last phase it will be increased to 20 lakh tonnes.

On November 29, 2019, Zurich Airport International won the tender to build Noida International Airport. In 2021, the Airport Authority of India approved the master plan of Jewar Airport. Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid its foundation on November 25, 2022. Tata Projects Limited Civil Construction got the contract only in 2022.

The airport received the official IATA code DXN on September 27, 2023. This code is issued by the International Air Transport Association.
