Retail sales of cars fell by 19% in September: 7.9 lakh cars stood in the inventory of companies, sales of two-wheelers also declined by 8.51%.

In September, there has been a decline of 9.26% in retail sales of vehicles in the country on an annual basis. Automobile companies sold about 17.23 lakh vehicles last month. At the same time, 19 lakh vehicles were sold in the same month last year.

At the same time, car sales have declined by about 19% on an annual basis. Car maker companies sold 2,75,681 cars in September. Whereas, in the same month last year, 3,39,543 vehicles were sold.

Federation of Automobile Dealers Association (FADA) has given this information in the monthly sales report today (7 October). According to the report, festivals like Ganesh Chaturthi and Onam in September also failed to increase the demand for cars. Now the companies have 7.9 lakh cars worth Rs 79,000 crore standing in their dealership inventory.
