Honda recalls 92,672 vehicles: Defect in fuel pump of cars made between 2017 to 2018, company will replace parts for free

Honda Cars today (26 October) has recalled more than 90 thousand vehicles due to technical fault. These include the Amaze subcompact sedan, Brio hatchback, BR-V SUV, City compact sedan, Jazz premium hatchback and WR-V subcompact SUV. Honda has given this information in a regulatory filing.

This recall of the Japanese car company includes models manufactured between June-2017 to October-2018. Honda told the market regulator that 92,672 vehicles sold in the Indian market have been recalled due to a defect in the fuel pump. These include 2,204 vehicles in which fuel pumps were replaced earlier also.

Company will replace defective parts for free Honda says that these cars may have a fuel pump with a bad propeller, which can cause the engine to either stall or have trouble starting.

The car manufacturer will contact customers in different phases from November 5. Vehicle owners will be informed about replacement of defective parts. No fee will be charged from the customer for this.

Customers can check whether their vehicle is included in the recall by visiting the Product Update/Recall page through the Service tab on the Honda Cars India website and providing the VIN of their car.

Big cases of vehicle recall in the country

1. Baleno and WagonR Recall: In July 2020, Maruti had recalled 1,34,885 units of WagonR and Baleno. These models were produced between November 15, 2018 and October 15, 2019. The company had recalled the vehicles due to a fault in the fuel pump.2. Maruti Eeco Recall: In November 2020, the company had recalled 40,453 units of Eeco. The company had taken this decision due to the missing standard symbol on the headlamp of the vehicle. The recall covers Eeco manufactured between November 4, 2019, and February 25, 2020.3. Mahindra Pickup Recall: In 2021, Mahindra & Mahindra recalled 29,878 units of its commercial pickup vehicles. The company had said that a fluid pipe needs to be replaced in some pickup vehicles manufactured between January 2020 and February 2021.4. Mahindra Thar Recall: Mahindra & Mahindra had recalled 1577 units of the diesel variant of its offroad SUV Thar in February 2021. The company had said that these parts got damaged due to a glitch in the plant's machine. All units were produced between September 7 and December 25, 2020.5. Royal Enfield Recall: In May 2021, Royal Enfield recalled 2,36,966 units of Bullet 350, Classic 350 and Meteor 350 due to fear of short circuit. All these were manufactured between December 2020 and April 2021.

Expert advice on company recall Regarding the fault in the car, the company first has to give a data to the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM). In this, we have to tell what percentage of people are facing problems due to car malfunction. After this SIAM gives approval. The company fixes a time to repair the fault. If a customer's car is outside the city where he purchased it, then he can also get it repaired at the nearest service center of that city.
