The quarter -final round has started in the Ranji Trophy. Saturday was the first day of the match. Mumbai scored 278 runs losing 8 wickets in the first innings. Tanush Kotian returned not out after scoring 85 runs. Shams Mulani missed out on a century.

Captain Rahane scored 31 runs Shams Mulani from Mumbai scored 91 runs on 178 balls from Mumbai at Eden Gardens Stadium in Kolkata. Captain Ajinkya Rahane contributed 31 runs on 58 balls, Shivam Dubey contributed 28 runs on 32 balls. Suryakumar Yadav scored 9 runs with the help of 2 fours on 5 balls. The rest of the batter could not do anything special. Anshul Kamboj from Haryana took 3 and Sumit Kumar took 2 wickets. Anuj Thakral and Ajit Chahal took 1-1 wickets.

3. Saurashtra vs Gujarat: Chintan Gaza took 4 wickets Gujarat won the toss at the Niranjan Shah Stadium in Rajkot and elected fielding. Saurashtra was all out after scoring 216 runs. Chirag Jani scored 69 runs. Harvik Desai scored 22, Cheteshwar Pujara 26, Arpit Vasavada 39 and Dharmendrasinh Jadeja scored 22 runs. The rest of the batter could not even touch the 15 -run figure.
