Mohammed Shami is returning to Team India after 19 November 2023. He was injured. He underwent surgery in London in January-2024.
The Indian team has been announced for the T-20 series against England. BCCI selectors on Saturday released the team for the 5 T20 match series.
According to Indian Express, fast bowler Mohammed Shami has returned to the Indian team after almost a year. Whereas, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammad Siraj have been rested. Young openers Yashasvi Jaiswal, Washington Sundar, Dhruv Jurel and Nitish Kumar Reddy have returned. Harshit Rana has got a chance in T-20.
The first match of the T-20 series will be played on 22 January. After that the 3 ODI series will start from 6th February.
Shami performed strongly in domestic cricket Shami returned after injury from Bengal's match against Madhya Pradesh in Round-1 of Ranji Trophy. He had impressive performances in Syed Mushtaq Ali (T20) and Vijay Hazare Trophy (ODI), which has increased the hopes of his return to the Indian team.
Had ankle surgery done in January last year Shami had undergone ankle surgery in England in January-2024. For the last several months, Shami was in the rehab camp at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru.

Tamim Iqbal again retires from international cricket
Former Bangladesh captain Tamim Iqbal has again retired from international cricket. This is the second time that he has said goodbye to his career. Tamim had also retired from international cricket in July 2023, but changed his decision within 24 hours.
