Indian team to be announced tomorrow for Champions Trophy: Shami's return possible; Surya-Shardul may be out; Tournament from 19th February

The Indian team for the Champions Trophy will be announced on Saturday, January 18. Chief selector Ajit Agarkar and captain Rohit Sharma will announce the team at 12:30 pm at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. This information has been given by BCCI. The board has invited the media in this regard on Friday.

The Champions Trophy is to be held from February 19 to March 9 at four venues in Pakistan and UAE. These include Lahore, Karachi, Rawalpindi and Dubai. All the matches of the Indian team will be played in Dubai.

Selection of 11 players for ODI World Cup decided It is certain that 11 players who will play in the 2023 ODI World Cup will be selected in the Indian team. Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan, Shardul Thakur and Ravichandran Ashwin may be out of this team. Ashwin has retired, while Shardul has not been selected in the team since Gautam Gambhir became the coach. On the other hand, Surya and Ishaan have got their cards dropped from the ODI team due to poor form and behaviour. In such a situation, the team management will have to find replacements for these players.
