India won the first T20 match against England by 7 wickets. England batted first at the Eden Gardens Stadium in Kolkata. The team could score only 132 runs. India achieved the target by losing 3 wickets in just 12.5 overs.

Abhishek Sharma from India played an inning of 79 runs on 34 balls. Varun Chakraborty took 3 wickets, he was also the player of the match. Arshdeep Singh, Hardik Pandya and Akshar Patel got 2-2 wickets. From England, Jos Buttler scored 68 runs, Jofra Archer took 2 wickets.
