India won the first ODI by 4 wickets: Jadeja-Harshit 3-3 wickets against England, Shubman scored 87 runs; Alphabetic fifty

India defeated England by 4 wickets in the first ODI. England won the toss at the VCA Stadium in Nagpur and chose the batting. Despite a good start, the team was all out after scoring 248 runs in 47.5 overs. India lost 2 wickets for 19 runs, with the help of 3 fifty in the middle order, the team achieved target by losing 6 wickets in 38.4 overs.

Shubman Gill from India scored 87, Shreyas Iyer scored 59 and Akshar Patel scored 52 runs. Ravindra Jadeja and Harshit Rana took 3-3 wickets. Jose Butler from England scored 52 and Jacob Bethel scored 51 runs. Adil Rashid and Saqib Mahmood took 2-2 wickets. The second ODI will be played on 9 February at Barabati Stadium in Cuttack.
