India-England series- Shami practiced with a bandage: Return to international cricket after 14 months; First match on 22 January in Kolkata

Mohammed Shami came for practice in Kolkata with a bandage on his left knee. Shami is included in Team India in the home T-20 series against England. He has returned to international cricket after a long gap of 14 months.

He played the final match against Australia on 19 November in the 2023 ODI World Cup held in India. Since then he has been away from international cricket due to injury.

The first match of the series against England will be played in Kolkata on 22 January.

He bandaged his left knee and bowled slowly under the supervision of bowling coach Morne Morkel, initially with short run-ups and then bowled with full run-ups and increased pace. He also took part in fielding practice after bowling for about an hour. He troubled young batsmen like Abhishek Sharma and Tilak Verma with his pace and accurate line length.
