Hobart Hurricanes reach BBL final after 7 years: Defeat Sydney Sixers in qualifiers by 12 runs, Riley Meredith player of the match

Hobart Hurricanes has become the first team to reach the final of the 14th season of the Big Bash League (BBL). The team made it to the title match after 7 years. On Tuesday, Hobart defeated three-time champion Sydney Sixers by 12 runs in the qualifiers. Fast bowler Riley Meredith, who took 2 wickets in the powerplay, was the player of the match.

Batting first in Hobart, the table topper home team scored 173 runs losing 7 wickets. Sydney made a comeback after losing early wickets, but the team could only score 161 runs after losing 5 wickets. Hurricanes will now play the final in Hobart on January 27.
