Veteran cricketer Greg Chappell has described Travis Head as the best batsman in the world at present. He said- Head's performance against Jasprit Bumrah in BGT is an example of his fearless approach and Australian formula of batting.
Former Australia captain Chappell believes that the reason behind Head's success as a Test batsman is his spontaneity and aggression. Head has scored 409 runs with the help of two centuries and one half-century in the first 3 Test matches against India. He is the top scorer of the series.
Head's performance against Bumrah at present is an example of his fearless approach. While other batsmen struggled against Bumrah's unconventional action, pace and consistently accurate bowling, Head took him on like any other bowler. Head faced Bumrah with strong intentions and by attempting to score runs against him, not only reduced his threat but also disrupted his rhythm. His ability to play short pitched balls and drive full length balls is special, which shows his progress.
