First match of WPL between Gujarat-Bengaluru on 14th February: Final in Mumbai on 15th March; 22 matches will be played at 4 venues

The third season of WPL between 5 teams will run for 30 days.

The schedule for the third season of the Women's Premier League (WPL) has been released. On February 14, the opening match will be held between defending champions Royal Challengers Bangalore and Gujarat Giants in Vadodara. The eliminator will be played on March 13 and the final on March 15 in Mumbai.

This time the matches will be held at 4 venues instead of 2. Lucknow and Bengaluru are the remaining 2 venues. There will be only 5 teams in the tournament, all the teams will play 2-2 matches against each other. In this way a team will play 8 matches. There will be a total of 22 matches in the tournament.

not a single double header

There will be 20 league stage matches in the Women's Premier League from 14 February to 11 March. There are rest days on 20th and 23rd February along with 2nd, 4th, 5th and 9th March, there will be no matches on these days. On all remaining days, 1-1 match will be played from 7.30 pm onwards. That means no two matches will be played on a single day. There will be no matches during the playoffs on March 12 and 14.

Matches will be held at 4 venues in Season 3. 6 matches will be played in Vadodara from 14 to 19 February. Then there will be 8 matches in Bengaluru from 21 February to 1 March. The home team here, Royal Challengers Bangalore, won the title for the second season, hence this venue got the maximum number of matches. 4 matches will be played in Lucknow from 3rd to 8th March. Then from March 10 to 15, there will be 2-2 matches of playoff and league stage in Mumbai.

Royal Challengers Bangalore is the defending champion of the WPL.

Kotambi Stadium was inaugurated only in December For the first time, WPL matches will be held at Ekana Stadium in Lucknow and Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara. Ekana Stadium has hosted IPL and international matches. Whereas Kotambi Stadium was inaugurated only last month with the ODI series between India and West Indies Women.

Knockout matches of Vijay Hazare Trophy are also being played in Kotambi. Here both the semi-final matches were held day-night, in which floodlights were tested. 6 matches of WPL will also be held under floodlights. Here 3 matches of home team Gujarat Giants will be played.

Mumbai won the title of the first season

The first season of WPL was played in 2023, when all 22 matches were played at 2 venues in Mumbai. Mumbai Indians won the title by defeating Delhi Capitals in the final. The matches of the second season were played in Delhi and Bengaluru. This time RCB won the title, the team defeated Delhi Capitals in the final.
