Mumbai's Ayra Jadhav played a record-breaking inning of 346 runs in the Under-19 Women's ODI on Sunday. She became the first Indian player to score a triple century in Under-19 cricket. The record for the highest score in Women's Under-19 ODI is in the name of South Africa's Lizelle Lee, who scored 427 runs in 2010.
On the basis of Ayra's innings, Mumbai scored 563 runs for 3 wickets against Meghalaya on Sunday at Alur Cricket Ground. Meghalaya Women's team could score only 19 runs in reply and Mumbai won the match by a record margin of 544 runs.
Ayra hit 42 fours and 16 sixes in his innings. He played 157 balls, out of which boundaries came on 58 balls. He scored 260 runs from the boundary itself, the remaining 86 runs were scored by running. This was the highest score by any batsman in all the ODI tournaments of India's domestic women's cricket. Ayra broke the record of Smriti Mandhana, who had scored a double century in Under-19 domestic cricket.
Ayra made 2nd century partnership Ayra opened for Mumbai and made a partnership of 274 runs with captain Hurley Gala. Gala was out after scoring 116 runs on 79 balls. Jadhav scored 149 runs in this partnership. She then added 186 runs for the second wicket with Diksha Panwar. During this period, 3 bowlers from Meghalaya spent more than 100 runs in their spell.
