Project

1. PM lays the foundation stone of Ken-Betwa link project: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today i.e. on 25th December laid the foundation stone of Ken-Betwa Link Project in Khajuraho, Madhya Pradesh. This is the country's first 'river interlinking project'. The objective of this scheme is to solve the problem of drinking water of the people of Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh. This will also increase the availability of water for irrigation.

On this occasion, a postal stamp was also released in the name of former Prime Minister of India Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

PM also inaugurated Omkareshwar Floating Solar Power Plant. A short film based on the life of former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee was screened. 77 meters height and 2.13 kilometers length on Ken River in Panna Tiger Reserve under the Ken-Betwa Link Project The dam will be built. It will be called 'Daudhan Dam'. 2,853 million cubic meters of water will be stored in the dam by building two tunnels. This project will provide water to districts like Panna, Damoh, Chhatarpur, Tikamgarh, Niwari, Sagar, Raisen, Vidisha, Shivpuri and Datia of Madhya Pradesh. There will be benefit. At the same time, water will be able to reach Mahoba, Jhansi, Lalitpur and Banda of Uttar Pradesh. Every year there is drought in many parts of Bundelkhand, while in some places there is flood due to excess water. To overcome this problem, efforts are being made under the 'National Perspective Plan'. The suggestion of linking the rivers was first given in 1919 by the British General and Irrigation Engineer Sir Arthur Cotton. He was the Chief Engineer of Madras Presidency. 1960 In 1982, the then Energy and Irrigation Minister KL Rao suggested connecting the Ganga and the Kaveri under the National Water Grid. In 1982, the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi Development Agency was formed. Under this, National Perspective Plan was made, whose aim was to link the rivers. Ken-Betwa Link Project is a part of this project.

2. Center changed the governors of 5 states: The central government appointed new governors in three states on the evening of December 24, while swapping governors in two states. Former Home Secretary Ajay Kumar Bhalla has been made the new Governor of Manipur and former Army Chief VK Singh has been made the new Governor of Mizoram. Apart from this, Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati has been appointed as the Governor of Odisha.

3. President Murmu will honor 17 children on 'Veer Bal Diwas': President Draupadi Murmu will honor 17 children with National Children's Award on the occasion of Brave Children's Day on 26th December. This will be the first time that 'National Children's Awards' will be given on 26th December instead of Republic Day. All winners will be given medals and citations. PM Modi will be present in this program of Veer Bal Diwas.

The Veer Bal Diwas program will be organized on December 26, 2024 at Bharat Mandapam, Delhi.

4. Chinese company SHEIN returns to Indian market after 4 years: China's famous fashion brand SHEIN is going to make a comeback in the Indian market after facing a ban of four years. 5. ICC Test Bowling Ranking-Bumrah achieved 904 rating points: Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah became the second Indian to get 904 rating points in the 'ICC Test Bowling Rankings'.
