The National Testing Agency (NTA) will soon release the application form notification for Cuet UG 2025. Candidates can apply by visiting the official website. For graduation, CUET i.e. Common University Entrance Test will be conducted with new format this year.
This year the CUET-OG 2025 will be computer based. From this year, the candidates will be able to select any subject besides the 12th subject.
UGC Experts Panel proposed format
It was announced by UGC President Jagdish Kumar. An expert panel of the University Grant Commission (UGC) reviewed the examination and proposed several changes in it, after which these changes have been presented in the format.
The panel included several aspects of the examination such as its structure, paper number, test papers time duration, syllabus alignment and operational structure. After its advis, the Commission has approved the change in format.
Examination in CBT mode is more reliable
In an interview to the media, Kumar had said, 'The exam will be conducted only in CBT (Computer-based Test) mode from 2025. We conducted the exam in hybrid mode last year, but we will now go into CBT mode as it is more reliable and secure than other methods of exam. '
The UGC chief said, candidates will also be given an option to select the subjects in CUET-OG, which they have not read in class 12th, so that higher education can be made easier.
UGC President M. Jagdish said, technical disturbances were found in conducting examination in hybrid mode.
Examination in hybrid mode was done in 2024
UGC President M. Jagdish said- 'The exam was first done in 2022 and technical disturbances were found in it. Also, due to the examination organized in several shifts for a subject, the numbers had to be normalized in the result. In 2024, the examination was conducted in hybrid mode for the first time. It was then canceled across Delhi a night before being held citing lack of resources.
Approval for recommendation in December
From 2025, the UG level exam of Common University Entrance Test (CUET) is going to be again online. Mag Jagdish Kumar, chairman of the University Grant Commission (UGC), who conducted the exam, gave this information in an interview in December 2024.
He still said that now students will be able to give CUET-NG exam in other subjects besides their 12th subjects. That is, even if the board is taken math in the exam, you will still be able to give cuet from biology or other subjects.
Admission is available in central universities of the country through CUET All the central universities of the country have a cuet exam for admission. Prior to 2022, universities like DU used to admission based on 12th marks. In 2022, CUET was made mandatory for Central Universities. It can also adopt a state, private and deemed university.
Instead of different entrance exams of universities, CUET was brought under the arrangement of an entrance exam. Jagdish Kumar said that 100% cut-off is ridiculous for admission to top universities. He had said that CUET will provide equal opportunities to all students of the country.
