In all these 6 cases of suicide, suicide has been hanged. Among them, 19-year-old Neeraj Jat hanged an anti-hanging device in the fan with which Neeraj's life could not be saved. Police say this happened because Neeraj hanged the fan's tank.
At the same time, Manan Jain, who hanged in Nani's house, was hanged from the window angle. So there was no meaning of anti-hanging devices in it. All the rest of the suicide fans were hanged where there was no anti-hunging device.
In such a situation, two questions arise here….
17 students suicide in 2024, 26 in 2023
Talk about the previous years that in the year 2024, 17 students living in Kota had suicide. There were 2 suicide in the month of January last year and 3 suicide in the month of February. In the year 2023, a total of 26 cases of student suicide were reported in Kota.
But if we look at this year's figure, it is shocking. After all, why are students doing suicide one after the other as soon as the year starts? Can the fear of exam be the reason for this?
'Don't teach children to handle failure'
Dr. Satyakant Trivedi, member and psychiatrist of MP Suicide Prevention Task Force, said about the student suicide happening in Kota, 'There is no reason for any suicide. All children are giving the same exam. In such a situation, mixed factors are responsible for suicide. This includes genetics causes, social causes, peer pressure, parents' expectations, education mechanisms.
Dr. Trivedi says that somewhere we fail to teach children how to deal with stress, rejections or failure. Today the child is beginning to believe that his academic achievement is bigger than his existance. The child is not ready to leave the preparation, ready to leave life. The society has glorified competitive examinations very much, due to which the child feels that I will be fulfilled only when I will crack an exam.
An exam is giving 14-16 lakh students but the seats are only a few thousand. In such a situation, everyone knows that there will be more number of children who are not selected. But no one prepares children to deal with failure. There will be nothing by installing Motivation Lecture in Bal Sabha, by applying counselor, showing a movie. Work on the entire system.
Suicide increases due to copycat effects
Dr. Trivedi also said a reason behind the constant suicide. This means copycat suicide. In this, a suicide glorification is done due to a perticular cose. Others facing the same cose can also be impressed and commit suicide.
They say that this is the reason why suicide should be promoted with great sensitivity. As we write in the heading- he kept crying, no one listened to one, the child died in the pressure of studies…. In this, we put the child behind and the pressure of studies ahead. In such a situation, the child facing the pressure of studies will feel that wow, this is a good rescue. Because of this, the idea of suicide may come in the child.
Guidelines for coaching centers in 2024, but suicide did not stop
In view of the increasing cases of students suicide, fire incidents in coaching centers and lack of facilities in coaching centers, the Ministry of Education released guidelines for coaching institutes.
But despite this, suicide in Kota has not stopped.
