Vikrant was asked at the promotional event of the film The Sabarmati Report whether he had received threats. On this the actor said, Yes, no one has asked me this till now, so I have not told about it. Yes, I have received and am receiving threats. But as I said, we are artists, we weave stories. It doesn't matter what people think or what they feel. I would like to say that this film (The Sabarmati Report) is completely based on truth. Unfortunately, you all have not seen this film yet. Therefore, you should not form any preconceived notions.

Initially the film was scheduled to be released on May 3, however, the film was postponed due to the Lok Sabha elections. Now this film will be released on 15th November. Produced by Ekta Kapoor, this film stars Vikrant Massey, Riddhi Dogra and Raashi Khanna in lead roles. In the trailer of the film, Vikrant Massey, Raashi Khanna and Riddhi Dogra are seen in the role of journalists. The film is based on the 2002 Godhra incident, directed by Ranjan Chandel.
