You are seen dancing for the first time in the music video 'Yanta'. What kind of preparations had to be done for the dance?
Look, I am not a dancer at all. Before shooting the song, choreographer Amit Sial had taught me some steps. When I reached the set I forgot everything. The support system of choreographer and co-actor and singer Renuka Panwar was good during the shooting. Somehow I managed to dance. This was the first time when I enjoyed dancing during the shooting. 'Yanta' itself means fun. There is a fun-filled dance in this music video also.
Who do you consider a good dancer in Bollywood?
In my view, Amitabh Bachchan and Govinda are very good dancers. The specialty of their dance is that they dance in such a way that even I can dance after seeing it. There are other good dancers in Bollywood, but I can't dance like them, so I have no interest in them.
How do you find time for music videos in your busy schedule?
When I heard the song 'Yanta' for the first time, I could not stop myself. This is a very rhythmic song. People remember music for a long time. The number of millions of views the music gets. Not that many people watch films.
If we look at the big stars of the past, music has played a huge role in their progress. When we remember Dev Anand and Dilip Kumar Sahab, the songs filmed on them before their films come to mind.
When the songs filmed on Dev Anand and Dilip Kumar were played, it was known which singer had given the voice. Who can become your voice today as a singer?
Now times have changed a lot. This change has probably happened because of today's musicians and singers. Today people are not focused on which singer's voice can fit which star. Today singers are known for their voice. Just look at Diljit Dosanjh, he is known for his voice. He has a very strong fan following.
If you get a chance to sing, will you sing?
I am a very bad singer. I can't sing at all. I have a very good ear and listen to good songs. I like listening to all types of songs. If there is charm in someone's voice, it draws me towards itself. Although all the singers are in the same tune, but some have a different flavor in their singing.
You are an actor who has worked with all three Khans of Bollywood. Share some special stories related to him. Let's start with Aamir Khan?
I did my first film 'Sarfarosh' with Aamir Khan. After this he produced the film 'Peepli Live'. The subject of that film was very artistic. At that time no one touched such a subject, but Aamir Sahab produced that film. That was a big thing for us. His most special thing is that he has a very good sense of the script and what kind of audience will watch the film.
What would you like to say about Shahrukh and Salman Khan?
The special thing about Shahrukh Khan sir is that he rehearses a lot before shooting. He is a very hardworking actor. It is a lot of fun working with Salman Bhai. He used to give his dialogue to me in advance to speak.
Any special story during shooting with Shahrukh Khan?
We were shooting the film 'Raees' in Gujarat. We were sitting once at night. He imitates Vidhu Vinod Chopra very well. He is an amazing mimicry artist. When he imitated Vidhu Vinod Chopra, I felt that he was coming from the front.
