South actors Naga Chaitanya and Shobhita Dhulipala have tied the knot. Both of them had a traditional grand wedding. The couple got married at the same Annapurna Studio in Hyderabad, which was founded by Naga Chaitanya's grandfather Akkineni Nageswara Rao in 1976. The wedding pictures of both have been shared by Naga Chaitanya's father actor Nagarjuna. Shortly after sharing, their wedding photos went viral on social media.

South superstar Nagarjuna shared pictures of both of them on social media platform X. In these pictures, Sobhita is seen in gold embroidered Kanjeevaram silk saree and heavy gold jewellery, while Naga Chaitanya is seen wearing off white kurta and dhoti.

In the pictures, Chaitanya and Shobhita are seen performing Telugu Brahmin rituals. In a ritual, both of them placed their hands on each other's heads. This ritual is called Jilakara Belam. In this, a paste of cumin and jaggery is given in the hands of the bride and groom. In this ritual, both of them place their paste applied hands on each other's head. This ritual is done so that the bride and groom will support each other in every difficult and good time. It is also believed that by applying paste on each other's head, the bride and groom connect their thoughts and destiny with each other.

Marriage according to Telugu Brahmin customs
In southern weddings, a veil is also used between the bride and groom. This ritual is called Terasala. In this ritual, the bride and groom cannot see each other before the marriage. This curtain is removed after the Jilakara Belam ritual, after which the marriage is considered complete. Also, in Southern weddings, the groom makes his bride wear Mangalsutra and ties three knots in it. It means the groom is accepting the bride as his wife in thought, word and deed. Peta was also tied on the forehead of Naga Chaitanya and Shobhita, which is tied on the forehead of the Telugu bride and groom at the time of marriage.

Naga and Shobhita got engaged in August. According to media reports, the private ceremony of both of them took place at the house of Naga Chaitanya's father Nagarjuna. Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya got married in Goa on 6 October 2017, first according to Hindu customs and then on 7 October in Christian customs. After marriage, Samantha had changed her name to Akkineni. However, amidst the news of separation, Samantha had removed Akkineni from her Twitter handle and changed it to Samantha Ruth Prabhu.
