I said- this film is out of the box
In an interview Aamir said, 'I told Ashutosh that the script is amazing but I don't have the courage to do it. It is out of the box.

I was also worried thinking whether my friend Ashutosh would get a producer for this or not?

'Lagaan', released in 2001, was the third highest-grossing film of the year after 'Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham' and 'Gadar'.

No one accepted the script of 'Lagaan'
Aamir further said, 'After my refusal, when Ashutosh took the film to many producers, some of them asked him to change the climax of the film.

One producer even said that instead of playing cricket at the end of the film, Aamir's character Bhuvan should be shown stabbing a British officer to death.

For some time, Ashutosh met many producers and actors but no one completely accepted the script of 'Lagaan'.

In 'Lagaan', Aamir played the role of Bhuvan and English actor Paul Blackthorne played the role of Captain Andrew Russell.

Aamir not only acted, he also produced the film
However, after many people rejected the film, Aamir himself finally signed the film. He called Ashutosh and sat with his parents and took the narration of the film.

During this narration, Aamir's parents were moved to tears. After this, Aamir not only acted in this film but also produced it.
