Actress Smiley Suri's Bollywood journey started in 2005 with 'Kalyug', which became a special experience for her. The film not only gave him recognition, but he also gained many important lessons and memorable moments during this time.
Smiley still remembers the nervousness of the first day of the film, especially about the scene in which she had to run near pigeons wearing red salwar-kurta and the pigeons flew away.
First day experience of the film
While talking to Dainik Global News Daily, Smiley said, 'It was the first day of the shoot and I still remember when I was very nervous. That shot of the song 'Jiya Dhadak Dhadak Jaaye', in which I was running near the pigeons wearing a red salwar-kurta and they flew away, was my first shot. Pigeons have their own temperament, they fly only when they have to fly. I remember running towards them and I was very scared.
Bhatt sir and Mohit sir were very supportive. He and all the assistants constantly encouraged me. Come on, smile, everything will be fine – all these things were giving me a lot of courage.
At that time the only thought was to run among the pigeons and make them fly. As soon as the shot was taken, I remember that scene was done in one take. Everyone saw that moment and it was really a special experience.
Shooting at locations like Sex Street and Railway Track was not easy.
Working on real life locations during the shooting of 'Kalyug' was also a great experience. While shooting at Gateway of India and Railway Station, problems like crowd control and local permission came to the fore.
Regarding this, Smiley said, 'We were not big stars, so people did not pay much attention, but used to gather during the shooting. This challenge was handled well by the production and assistant directors. Kunal Deshmukh, Tushar Jalota and Mohit worked hard to control the crowd.
Apart from this, there were many problems during the shooting abroad, especially in the climax scene, where there was a lot of noise. Shooting on real locations like Sex Street and railway tracks gave the film more depth. It was very difficult to control the crowd, but the production and direction team handled it brilliantly.
Every moment related to 'Kalyug' will be special for me
Smiley believes that 'Kalyug' taught her a lot not only as an actress but also as an artist. He said, 'This film was not just a project, but a big experience for me. The learning and new experiences gained during shooting made me a better artist. Every moment related to this film will be special for me.
Let us tell you, a few months ago, Smiley made his comeback after 16 years with the film House of Lies on the digital platform.
