Case registered against Ekta and Shobha Kapoor under POCSO: The case is related to the web series 'Gandi Baat', objectionable scenes of minor girls were filmed.

A case has been registered against Bollywood producer Ekta Kapoor and her mother Shobha Kapoor under the POCSO Act in Mumbai. This case is related to season 6 of the web series 'Gandii Baat' of OTT platform 'Alt Balaji'.

Ekta and her mother are accused of filming objectionable scenes of minor girls in this web series. However, this controversial episode is not currently streaming on this app.

Ekta started the OTT app Alt Balaji in the year 2017.

A person resident of Mumbai lodged a complaint A local citizen has filed a complaint against former ALTBalaji producer Ekta and her mother Shobha at the MHB police station in Borivali, Mumbai.

The complainant alleged that in an episode of the series, some scenes were shown violating the rules of the POCSO Act.

Ekta and Shobha did not react However, till now no statement has come from Ekta Kapoor or Shobha Kapoor in this matter. This case has been registered against both of them after the recent comment of the court on pornographic films made on children.

On September 27, the Supreme Court had given a major decision regarding obscene content related to children. The court had said that watching, publishing and downloading such obscene content involving children is a crime.

In 2020 also, a case was registered regarding the same series. Ekta and her web series 'Gandii Baat' have been in controversies before also. In 2020, a case was registered against Ekta for showing objectionable material against the army in a season of this series.

Ekta had also challenged the case in the High Court. It was said from his side that there is nothing objectionable in the web series. The police registered the case without investigating or listening to the parties. It should be repealed.
