Pitru Paksha till October 2: Those ancestors whose death date is not known, perform their shraddha on Sarvapitri Moksha Amavasya, do charity in the name of ancestors daily

Right now Pitru Paksha is going on and this Paksha will continue till 2nd October. During these days, religious rites like Shradh, Pinddaan and Tarpan are performed according to the death date of the ancestors. It is believed that during Pitru Paksha, the ancestors of the family visit the homes of their descendants and get pleased with the religious rites performed by us and bless us.

According to Ujjain's astrologer Pt. Manish Sharma, for the ancestors of the family whose death date is not known, the Shradh rituals should be performed on Sarvapitre Moksha Amavasya (2 October). On these days, after doing Dhoop and meditation, food should be fed to Brahmin, son-in-law, nephew, maternal uncle, Guru, grandson as well as the needy people outside the house. According to your capacity, you should donate money, grains and food daily.

Know what things should be kept in mind during Pitru Paksha?

Cleanliness and peace should be maintained in the house during the days of Pitru Paksha. It is believed that the ancestors do not get satisfaction in the houses where there is dirt and fights. The ancestors are happy with those people of the lineage who maintain mutual love in the house. One should not get angry during these days. Do not consume intoxicants and non-vegetarian food. One should stay away from all kinds of irreligious works. Do not have bad thoughts for others. Keep in mind to respect everyone in the house, do not insult any member. Do not disturb dogs, cows and crows, definitely arrange for food and water for them. If you are doing Dhoop-Dhyan and charity for the ancestors, then avoid using garlic and onion in the food. While doing Tarpan for the ancestors, Gangajal, milk, water, barley, rice should also be mixed in the water. While making Pind for Pinddaan, use milk and sesame along with rice. One should wake up early every morning during Shradh Paksha. After performing the shraddha rituals, definitely ask for forgiveness from the ancestors for the known and unknown mistakes. Every evening, while meditating on the ancestors, a lamp should be lit outside the house in the south direction. On the Navami Tithi of Pitru Paksha, shraddha rituals should be performed for the dead married women. On Ekadashi Tithi, perform shraddha for those who died as sanyasis. On Chaturdashi Tithi, perform shraddha for those who died by weapons or in an accident. On this day, perform shraddha for people who committed suicide.
