This time there will be a solar eclipse on the new moon day of Ashwin month i.e. Sarvapitri Moksha Amavasya (Wednesday, October 2), but this eclipse will not be visible in India, hence there will be no thread of eclipse in the country. All the auspicious works related to Amavasya and Pitru Paksha can be done throughout the day.
According to Astrologer Pt. Manish Sharma of Ujjain, the Sutak of the eclipse is valid at the place where the solar eclipse is visible. Where eclipse is not visible, sutak of eclipse should not be considered. Sutak of solar eclipse starts 12 hours before the time of eclipse and continues till the end of the eclipse.

A total solar eclipse will be visible in Argentina and Chile on October 2. Apart from these countries, partial solar eclipse will be visible in many countries including Antarctica, Brazil, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, America. There will be night during the eclipse in the countries around India, the solar eclipse will not be visible here.
There will be no thread of eclipse, you can do religious activities throughout the day
Due to eclipse not being visible in India, all the religious rituals related to Sarvapitri Moksha Amavasya can be performed throughout the day. Offer water to the Sun on Wednesday morning, worship Gods and Goddesses like Ganesha, Vishnu-Lakshmi, Shiva-Parvati etc. in the home temple. Perform auspicious works like Shraddha, Pind Daan and Tarpan etc. for the ancestors at around 12 noon. Feed needy people on this day. Donate grains, clothes, shoes and money. Light a lamp in Hanuman ji's temple and recite Hanuman Chalisa.
For ancestors for whom you have forgotten to perform Shraddha during Pitru Paksha and whose death is not known, perform Shraddha on this Amavasya only.
