Gautam Buddha used to travel most of the time and wherever he stayed during his travels, he used to preach to his disciples and people. Once when he was giving a sermon, at the end of the sermon he said, wake up, time is running out. Saying this he ended his sermon.
After finishing the sermon, Gautam Buddha said to his disciple Anand that let's go for a walk. Ananda immediately went with Buddha.
Both Buddha and Ananda reached the main gate of the preaching place and stopped at one side and stood there. After listening to the sermon, people were coming out from there. That's why there was a crowd there.
Suddenly a woman came out of the crowd and said to Gautam Buddha that Tathagata, I am a dancer. Today I have a dance program at a gentleman's house, but I had forgotten about it. When you said that time was running out, I immediately remembered that I had to go to the program. Thanks to you I remembered this. Saying this the woman left from there.
After some time a person approached Buddha. He said, Tathagata, I will not hide my secret from you. I am a dacoit, I had forgotten that today I had to go to a place to commit a robbery, today after listening to your sermon I remembered my plan. Thnkx so much for this.
After the dacoit left, an old man walked slowly and reached Buddha. The old man said that Tathagata kept running after worldly things all his life. Now the day of facing death is coming closer, now I feel that my whole life has become useless. After listening to your teachings, I understood my mistakes. Now I will leave all my attachments and concentrate only on my self-welfare and God. Having said this he also left.
Gautam Buddha's teachings
When everyone left from there, Buddha said to Anand that I had said only one thing in the sermon, but everyone understood it according to their own intelligence.
One understands things according to his intelligence. The bigger one's bag is, the more donations he can collect.
For our welfare, we should make our mind pure and sacred, so that we can bring more and more good things into our life.
