Aghaan month begins, will last till December 15: In the Aghaan month, Shri Krishna and conch worship is done, there is also a tradition of bathing, donating and fasting throughout the month for Akshaya Punya.

The month of Aghan has started from 16th November. Which will last till 15th December. This month there is a tradition of worshiping conch shell and Goddess Lakshmi for happiness and prosperity. They also offer water to the Sun. This provides relief from all types of defects. It is believed that bathing, donating, fasting and worshiping in this month brings inexhaustible virtue.

Since it is the favorite month of Shri Krishna, the scriptures prescribe taking bath in the Yamuna river in the month of Aghaan. This eliminates all types of defects. On the last day of this month i.e. on the full moon, the Moon remains in Mrigashira Nakshatra. That is why it has been called Margashirsha.

Both the Ekadashi of Agahan month, especially the eleventh date of Krishna Paksha of Agahan month is called Utpana Ekadashi. According to the legend, Ekadashi appeared from Lord Vishnu on this date. That is why it is called Utpana. At the same time, Ekadashi of Shukla Paksha is considered to give salvation. According to the Puranas, on this date Lord Krishna recited Geeta to Arjun. Therefore Geeta Jayanti is celebrated on this date.

Shankha and Lakshmi Puja for happiness and prosperity. There is a tradition of doing Shankha Puja in this month. In the month of Agahan, any conch is considered as Panchjanya conch of Lord Krishna and worshiped. Krishna is pleased with this. Besides, Goddess Lakshmi should also be worshiped this month.

Shankha is considered the brother of Goddess Lakshmi. For this reason, conch is also kept specially in Lakshmi Puja. Worshiping Goddess Lakshmi and conch shell increases happiness and prosperity. This month, Shri Krishna should be worshiped in child form every day.

Worship of Sun God has special significance. Worship of Sun God in the month of Aghan also has special results. It is said in the scriptures that by offering water to the rising sun on Sunday in this month, all kinds of faults and sins are eliminated. In the month of Aghan, one should fast without salt on Sunday. By doing this the inauspicious effects of planets and stars in the horoscope are reduced.
