Duties related to Magh Purnima
Kalpavas of devotees in Prayag on Maghi Purnima will also end. In Kalpavas, devotees stay in the Magh month on the banks of the holy rivers, Ganga, Sangam etc. and chant the river bath, worship, mantras every day.
In the month of Magh, all the deities come to bathe in the confluence of Prayag in the form of human beings. Such is the belief.
On Magh Purnima, along with a river bath, special worship of your presiding deity should be done. Havan, fast and mantra should also be chanting on this day.
Those who are not able to bathe the river, they should take a bath by mixing Ganga water in water at home.
Offer water to the sun after bathing. Those who take a river bath offer arghya to the Sun from the water of the river.
In the afternoon of Maghi Purnima, there should be sunlight for fathers. For this, jaggery-ghee is offered by meditating on the ancestors on the coals of the condoms (dung). The water is offered to the ancestors by taking water in the palm.
People fast on Maghi Purnima, in this fast, consuming sesame and donating sesame has special significance.
On this festival, Lord Vishnu should be anointed with Goddess Lakshmi. Offer sweets to God with basil leaves. Chant Om Namo Bhagwate Vasudevaya Mantra.
There is also a tradition of reading and listening to the story of Lord Satyanarayana on the full moon.
