Ritu, a student who takes charge of BDO
A unique initiative was taken under the Mission Shakti program in Mitauli block of Kheri district. To promote women empowerment, Ritu, a student of Kanya Upper Primary School Kasta, was made a Block Development Officer (BDO) for one day.
The program was organized under the guidance of District Basic Education Officer Praveen Kumar Tiwari and District Coordinator Girls Education Renu Srivastava. The current BDO Amit Singh Parihar welcomed Ritu and handed him over.
As soon as BDO took over, Ritu discharged his responsibilities with full confidence. He first got acquainted with the office staff and inspired him to work honestly. After this, he conducted the works of the development block and also heard the problems of the general public.
During the program, BDO Amit Singh Parihar wished Ritu to get a higher position by reading and writing in future. School teacher Ratanjit Kaur and other staff members were also present on the occasion. This initiative was taken with the aim of promoting safety, respect and self -reliance among women and girls.
