SA20- Cape Town defeated Capitals by 95 runs: Sedikullah-Koner half-century, 3-3 wickets to Pedt-Cabber; Team topped the league stage

Mi Cape Town defeated Pretoria Capitals by 95 runs in Newlands on Sunday. The team ended the league stage while staying at the top in the points table. The team will face Parl Royals in Qualifier-1 on 4 February tomorrow.

Cape Town won the toss and decided to bat first. The team scored 201 runs losing 5 wickets in 20 overs. In response, Pretoria Capitals were all out for 106 runs in 14 overs. Sedikullah Atal and Connor Asterhujan scored half -centuries for Cape Town. Spinners Dane Peedt and Thomas Cabber took 3-3 wickets. Podt was adjudged Player of the Match.

Sedikullah scored 74, Connor scored 69 runs For Cape Town, Sedikullah Atal scored 74 off 46 balls and Connor Asterujan scored 69 off 43 balls. The two had a brilliant partnership of 133 runs for the first wicket. James Neesham took the most 3 wickets for the capitals.

No other player other than James Neesham could play a big innings for Pretoria Capitals chasing the 201 run target. Neesham scored the highest 32 runs. Dane Podt and Thomas Cabber took 3-3 wickets for Cape Town.

Sedikullah Atal scored 74 runs off 46 balls.

Qualifier-1 will be played tomorrow Top-2 teams will play qualifier-1 after the group stage. The winning team will reach the final. The match will be played tomorrow i.e. on 4 February at St. George Park. The third and fourth -ranked teams will have an eliminator match. The team that won this eliminator match will clash with the losing team in Qualifier-1 in qualifier-2. Both these matches will be played at Centurion.
