Electric vehicle start-up Web Mobility recently launched Wave EVA, India's first solar-powered electric car, at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. The company claims that the car will run 250 kilometers once fully charged.
The car battery will be charged in 5 hours with a home charger and in 20 minutes with a DC fast charger. Solar panel has been provided on the roof of the car, due to which an extra range of 10 kilometers will be available.
The Wave Eva is a small car, similar to a quadricycle. It can seat 2 persons and a child. This EV can accelerate from 0-40 kilometers per hour in 5 seconds. This car will compete with MG's Comet. It was first showcased in its concept avatar at the Auto Expo 2023.
Starting ex-showroom price Rs 3.25 lakh
Wave Eva has been introduced in three variants – Nova, Stella and Vega. The starting ex-showroom price of its base variant Nova is Rs 3.25 lakh. It has battery in the form of subscription plan. Whereas, customers will be able to buy the EV without battery subscription at a starting ex-showroom price of Rs 3.99 lakh.
These prices will be for the first 25,000 customers, whose deliveries will start in 2026. The company said that Wave Eva has been provided with a flexible solar panel, through which the car can drive 10 kilometers every day.
