Shakib's bowling action was found illegal during a county match in England in September 2024 and after this he was banned. This will continue in international matches as per ICC rules.
BCB said in a statement on Saturday
The ban imposed on Shakib by Loughborough University will continue. A successful test is needed to lift the ban. Shakib cannot bowl but he can play all formats as a batsman.
England Board had banned All-rounder Shakib, 37, played and bowled one match for Surrey in the County Championship in September. During this, the on-field umpire found his bowling action illegal and reported him. On the same report, England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) took action and banned Shakib. Now he will not be able to bowl in any ECB tournament. This ban has been implemented from December 10.
Shakib is away from international cricket since October Shakib has not played international cricket since playing two Tests against India in September-October 2024.
