The blast took place in an open space near the gate of the police station. The gates of the police station were closed after the incident.

According to initial information, a hand grenade has been thrown inside the police station. However, no official has confirmed this yet.
As soon as information about the blast was received, Majitha DSP Jaspal Singh Dhillon reached the spot. Many employees were present in the police station at the time of the incident. Information could not be found whether there was any damage in the incident or not.
Realizing the seriousness of the matter, DIG Satinder Singh of Border Range of Punjab Police also reached the spot. On the other hand, SSP Charanjit Singh of Amritsar Rural Police said that the sound of an explosion was heard. Police is investigating.
