'Shooting in Vaishno Devi temple was difficult': Shabana Azmi said – used to stand in queues for hours, there was no bathroom facility on the way

Rajesh Khanna and Shabana Azmi's film Avatar was released in 1983, which is considered to be Rajesh Khanna's comeback. Recently Shabana Azmi shared an incident during the shooting of the song Chalo Bulaawa Aaya Hai of this film. He said that at that time there were long queues and there were no toilet facilities on the way.

Shabana Azmi said in a conversation with Radio Nasha, 'At that time it was very difficult to shoot in Vaishno Devi temple. There was no helicopter facility then. We had to climb on foot to reach the temple. There was no toilet facility on the way, due to which a lot of problems had to be faced.

Shabana said, 'Can you imagine that Rajesh Khanna, who was a superstar, used to stand in the queue with Dalda boxes? Not only this, it was also very cold at that time. Everyone slept on the floor in dharamshalas. We had mattresses. But about 12 layers of blankets were placed on them. We covered ourselves with six layers. Even after this one felt cold. At that time we all were like a team. No one had this thought in their mind that since we are superstars, they will not adjust.

Shabana Azmi said, 'Rajesh and I were good friends. Once we were talking to the media. He came in and we saw that he had a bandage on his leg and was limping. A journalist saw this and asked what happened to his leg? So he immediately replied, Yesterday I was riding a horse, and fell from the horse. At that time I was surprised and started thinking that I was with him, when did he do the shooting of horse riding?

Shabana further said, 'Rajesh kicked my feet under the table and signaled me to keep quiet. Later he said I had fallen, and why do you always tell the truth? Obviously, I will not tell the journalist that my foot got stuck in the dhoti, that is why I fell. Let me live my moment. what is the matter with you? I laughed a lot after hearing this.
