PM Modi said- Today is the 75th year of the Indian Constitution. This is a matter of great pride for the country.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached the Supreme Court on Tuesday evening at a program organized on the occasion of Constitution Day. He released the Annual Report 2023-24 of the Indian Judiciary here.
PM said in his address- We have seen emergency in the country. Our Constitution has faced this challenge faced by democracy. It is the strength of the Constitution that today Baba Saheb Ambedkar's Constitution is being fully implemented in Jammu and Kashmir. Today, Constitution Day is being celebrated for the first time in Jammu and Kashmir.
He said that this is the 75th year of the Indian Constitution. This is a matter of great pride for the country. I salute the Constitution and all the members of the Constituent Assembly. We cannot forget that today is also the anniversary of the terrorist attack in Mumbai.
PM said- Those who lost their lives in this attack. I pay my tribute to him. I also want to reiterate the country's resolve that all terrorist organizations challenging India's security will be given a befitting reply.
In the same programme, CJI Sanjeev Khanna said – The role of a judge is often like walking on the edge of a sword. The role of Judiciary is directly related to democracy. This has been possible only because of the guidelines set by the Constitution. Our Constitution is a living document.
CJI gifted a painting made by a prisoner lodged in Tihar to PM Modi.

He said that the role of a judge is often like walking on the edge of a sword. Every decision requires a balance of equal rights-responsibilities. But this should be such a game in which no one should have any advantage or harm the other. Because due to this questions are raised on the functioning of the courts.

On Tuesday itself, on the completion of 75 years of the country's Constitution, a special program took place in the Central Hall of the Old Parliament. President Draupadi Murmu, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla were also present in it. The theme of the event was Our Constitution, Our Self-Respect.
For the first time in the event, PM Narendra Modi and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi were seen sitting together on the same stage. Apart from these, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, BJP President JP Nadda, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju, Rajya Sabha Deputy Speaker Harivansh were also present.
Rahul Gandhi said in the Constitution Protector program – whoever talks about Dalits, his mike will be switched off.
Rahul Gandhi said that wherever our government comes, we will conduct caste census there. We are doing this in Telangana. Rahul said this during the Constitution Rakshak program of Congress at Talkatora Stadium in Delhi. During the speech of the Leader of Opposition, his mike got switched off.
