On this, the bench said, 'When Chandrababu Naidu or Jagan Mohan Reddy lose elections, they say that EVMs are tampered and when they win, they do not say anything.'

Voting through ballot paper even in countries like America Paul said that EVMs can be tampered with. Even in countries like America, voting is done through ballot paper. We should follow it. EVMs are a threat to democracy. Elon Musk has also expressed concern about tampering with EVMs.
Candidate should be ineligible for at least 5 years Petitioner KA Paul also sought direction from the bench to the Election Commission. He said that if such candidates are found guilty of luring voters with money, liquor and other things during elections, they should be disqualified for at least five years.

On October 16, Priya Mishra and Vikas Bansal, on behalf of the Congress, had filed a petition in the Supreme Court alleging irregularities in voting-counting on 20 seats during the Haryana Assembly elections.
It was said in the petition that the Election Commission has conducted elections in Haryana using EVM. Results were also declared on the same basis. But, some EVMs were working at 99 percent battery capacity, while some were working at 60-70 and less than 80 percent battery capacity. Some EVMs had 99 percent battery even on the day of counting.
During the hearing on October 17, the Supreme Court had reprimanded the petitioner. The court had said that for filing such a petition, a fine can also be imposed on you. You hand over the papers, we will see.
