ISKCON Bangladesh's Chinmay Prabhu in custody: Sedition case against him, accused of hoisting saffron flag with Aami Sanatani written on the Azadi Pillar of Dhaka

Bangladesh ISKCON religious leader Chinmoy Krishna Das Prabhu has been detained in a treason case on Monday afternoon. According to media reports, there is an allegation of disturbing communal harmony. Chinmoy Prabhu's assistant Adi Prabhu said that he was taken to the DB office on Mintu Road in Dhaka.

According to Bangladesh media, Chinmay Prabhu had reached Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport from Dhaka to Chittagong, from where he was arrested by the Detective Police.

Chinmoy Prabhu is also known as Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari. He led protests in Bangladesh against attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh.

Allegation of hoisting saffron flag on Azadi Pillar

On October 25, a rally was held at Laldighi Maidan in Chittagong regarding their 8-point demands, during which some people hoisted the saffron flag on the Azadi Pillar at New Market Chowk. Aami Sanatani was written on this flag. Regarding this, he has been accused of contempt and insult to the national flag.

A saffron flag was installed on the Azadi Pillar in Chittagong, Bangladesh, which was removed.

ISKCON temple was attacked An ISKCON temple in Khulna district of Bangladesh was targeted on 6 August during the power struggle in Bangladesh. In this the idols of Lord Jagannath were burnt. After this attack, Chinmay Das had said that three other temples in Chittagong are also under threat.

The Hindu community is working together to protect them. Das said that to escape the violence, Hindus are taking refuge in India through Tripura and Bengal. Chinmay Das has been raising the issue of security of Hindu temples for a long time.

Rally was held against violence against Hindus

Since the fall of the government in Bangladesh recently, many cases of violence against the minority Hindu community have come to light. In August, 205 cases of attacks on Hindus were reported in 52 districts of Bangladesh. A rally was organized in Chittagong in protest against this. After the change of power in August, cases of forced resignation from minorities were also reported.

According to Bangladesh Hindu Buddhist Christian Unity Council, resignations were taken from 49 teachers belonging to the minority community after the formation of the new government in the country.
