In the month of Margashirsha, there is a tradition of visiting and worshiping Lord Shri Krishna in mythological temples and pilgrimages. During these days, along with worship, the scriptures and stories of Shri Krishna are also read and heard. Lord Shri Krishna has said to Arjun in Geeta that Maasaan Margashirshoham i.e. Margashirsha month is my form. In the Hindi calendar, the month is named after the constellation that falls on the full moon, the last date of the month. Mrigashira Nakshatra remains on the full moon day of this month, hence the name of the ninth month of the Hindi calendar is Margashirsha.
Do meditation along with worshiping Shri Krishna.
There is a tradition of doing special worship of Shri Krishna every morning in the month of Aghan. If you meditate along with God's mantras while worshiping, your thoughts will become positive. If thoughts remain positive, enthusiasm will remain while working and the chances of getting success in work will increase.
To meditate, choose a place where there is cleanliness. While meditating, if sounds are heard from here and there, then the mind is not able to concentrate and we are not able to meditate. Therefore, choose a quiet place to meditate. Lay yourself flat and sit in Padmasana or Sukhasana as per your convenience.
Close your eyes and concentrate completely on the Ajna Chakra between both the eyes. Avoid thinking while meditating. Do not keep any thoughts in your mind. The mind will remain calm and you will be able to meditate properly. During this time you can also chant mantras. If you wish, you can chant Shri Krishna's mantra Krim Krishnaya Namah. You can decide the time for meditation as per your convenience. You can meditate for as long as you want.
While meditating, the process of inhaling and exhaling should be kept normal. While sitting in meditation, we should keep our spine straight. Meditate daily during this month and make meditation a part of your lifestyle even after this month. If you continue to meditate for a long time, your mind will remain calm.
This is how you can worship Bal Gopal
The worship of the child form of Shri Krishna i.e. Bal Gopal should be started with the worship of Ganesha, because Ganesha is the first worshiper and every auspicious work starts with meditating on him.
After worshiping Ganesh, bathe Bal Gopal by filling the Dakshinavarti conch with water and milk. If you wish, you can also do Abhishek with Panchamrit.
After taking bath, adorn the Lord with necklaces, flowers and clothes. Offer worship materials like perfume, gulal, abeer, sandalwood etc. Light incense and lamps. Offer butter and sugar candy with basil.
Chant the mantra Krim Krishnaya Namah. At the end of the puja, ask for forgiveness from God for your known or unknown mistakes. After this, distribute the Prasad and take it yourself.
There is also a tradition of traveling to Mathura, the birthplace of Shri Krishna, in the month of Aghan. Along with Mathura, you can also visit Gokul, Vrindavan, Govardhan mountain and take bath in Yamuna.
