The Election Commission has rejected the allegations made by the Congress in the Haryana Assembly elections. The Commission termed the allegations as baseless, false and baseless. Not only this, the Commission wrote a letter to the Congress Party to refrain from making baseless allegations election after election.

The Election Commission said that making irresponsible allegations at a sensitive time like voting and counting days can lead to unrest and anarchy.
Citing five cases in the last one year, the Commission asked to exercise caution and avoid habitually attacking electoral operations without any evidence.
Petition given on 16 October It is noteworthy that on October 16, Priya Mishra and Vikas Bansal on behalf of Congress had filed a petition in the Supreme Court alleging irregularities in voting-counting on 20 seats during the Haryana Assembly elections.
In the petition given through advocate Narendra Mishra, it was said that the Election Commission has conducted elections in Haryana using EVM. Results have also been declared on the same basis. But, some EVMs were working at 99 percent battery capacity, while some were working at 60-70 and less than 80 percent battery capacity.
The petitioners said that some EVMs had 99 percent battery even on the day of counting.
EVM problem was detected during voting itself. The petition said that EVM malfunction was detected during voting and counting at some polling stations. The Congress leaders and workers present on the spot had also told the EVM malfunction to the election officer present there, but there were not many Congress people, hence they were not heard.
The petitioner had demanded that there is a possibility of EVM malfunction in 20 seats of Haryana. Re-elections should be held on them. After voting, the Election Commission continuously updated the voting percentage till the day before the counting. This should be investigated. It was said in the petition that the hearing in the case should be done soon. A hearing on this was held in the court today.
Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar answered the questions being raised on EVM during the press conference. –
Chief Election Commissioner had already said – There is no problem with EVM. Earlier, Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar had said in the press conference organized to announce the dates of assembly elections of Jharkhand and Maharashtra that there is no fault in the EVM. He said that the battery of EVM is a single use battery like a calculator battery. It is not like a mobile battery.
The commissioner had also said that there is a provision in EVMs that the machines require low voltage. When mock poll is done after commissioning, initially 99% battery is shown. Also when it has less than 7.4% voltage it shows low battery.
State Congress President had said- Special EVM, whose battery was 99% charged. After the Haryana election results, Congress had reached the Election Commission office in Delhi to complain. After which Haryana Congress President Chaudhary Udaybhan had said that we received 20 complaints. Of which 7 are written. On the day of counting, there were certain EVMs whose batteries were showing 99% charge. Due to this BJP got more votes. The battery cannot remain fully charged after counting. This is the biggest reason for our doubt.
He had said that the remaining normal EVMs had 60 to 70% battery. BJP was not winning in that. We have informed the commission about this. He had demanded sealing of EVMs till the investigation is completed.
After counting, Udaybhan raised questions on EVM. –
Congress spokesperson Pawan Kheda said- there were irregularities on 20 seats. Congress spokesperson Pawan Kheda was also involved during the complaint to the Election Commission in Delhi. During this he had said that our candidates complained about the battery of EVM. We have demanded the Election Commission to investigate this and inform. In this regard, the candidates have also given a written complaint to the Returning Officer at the counting center itself.
